Four New Destinations For Small Luxury Hotels Of The World: Berlin, Dubai, Cuba And Sydney

London – Small Luxury Hotels of the World welcomes four new hotels in four brand new destinations this October – The Orania.Berlin, Nikki Beach Resort & Spa in Dubai, Paseo 206 Boutique Hotel La Habana in Cuba and Ovolo Woolloomooloo in Sydney.  Daniel Luddington, VP of Development for SLH says: “These are not just four new destinations, they are four of the top ten most requested places on SLH.com where we haven’t had a hotel to date. All four hotels honestly reflect the heritage of their diverse locations and we are delighted that our guests can now enjoy experiencing these world-class cities the SLH way.”

Opened September 2017

The opening of Orania.Berlin in September saw the revival of a national monument in Berlin’s cultural heart, Kreuzberg. The building which once housed the Oranienpalast Café, famous for its cabarets and concerts by local artists, celebrates this heritage by hosting concerts, D.J. nights, poetry slams and readings throughout the week. With the emphasis most definitely on ‘local’, music will be curated by internationally acclaimed artists Julien Quentin (Artistic Director) and Marc Schmolling (Jazz Curator) who both live in the neighbourhood. The hotel’s 40 spacious rooms and its public spaces have been designed to combine natural materials and a subtle Eastern motif creating an atmosphere in which both guests and local residents can feel at home. Equally welcoming are the spa and restaurant, where Michelin-starred Chef Philipp Vogel will serve up outstanding cuisine from Kreuzberg and beyond.

Ovolo Woolloomooloo, Sydney, Australia

Heritage meets modern luxury at the Ovolo Woolloomooloo, stretched along the longest timber-piled wharf in the world and looking over the iconic Sydney Harbour. The hotel is housed in an historic building featuring rows of teal-painted French windows on its warehouse style exterior. All 100 rooms continue the theme, being spacious and bright with eclectic pieces and bespoke bed head art. Many are also split over two levels taking full advantage of the views. Guests can enjoy some downtime in the Lo Lounge or take a ten minute walk through the Botanical Gardens to the Sydney Opera House. Extras such as mini-bar, happy hour and laundry are all included in the room rate.

Paseo 206 Boutique Hotel La Habana, Havana, Cuba

Step back in time in this lovingly restored colonial mansion on a tree-lined avenue in the El Vedado district that allows guests a true Havana experience, fused with Italian style and food. Paseo 206 Boutique Hotel La Habana is Havana’s first luxury boutique hotel and offers eight rooms including a rooftop suite providing guests with a private entrance, hot tub and views over the Malecon and the sea. During their stay, guests can embrace the locale with excursions to the local vegetable and fish markets to pick out the ingredients for dinner, explore the Hemmingway trail or just enjoy the atmosphere of the building with an aperitif in the lounge. The hotel’s restaurant, Eclectico, serves Italian food under Chef Vincenzo Frassanito with options including a rum tobacco gelato.

Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai, UAE

Located on a private, custom-made island on the Dubai waterfront, Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai is an exclusive retreat that is made for celebrating life in absolute comfort and complete luxury, all with the Arabian Gulf and Dubai skyline as the backdrop. White stone and natural wood create a relaxed, beachside feel throughout the resort while the 132 rooms, 15 of which are ultra-deluxe villas, feature a bespoke entertainment wall, MyBar customised minibar and mood light system. Some also offer private pools and decks although the beach itself is never far away, with views from every room and suite. Guests can while away the day lounging on a cabana with a cocktail from the Beach Club’s swim-up bar and enjoy a massage or traditional Arabian hammam in the ESPA spa. In the evening guests are transported to the Florida coast with sundowners and Caribbean bites at the Key West restaurant and grill, or can sample dishes from around the world at Nikki Beach’s total of five restaurants, before enjoying live entertainment at Nikki Privé or chill-out tunes at Soul Lounge.
